Mazatlan county is located in the south region of the state of sinaloa between the meridians 105° 56'55" and 106° 37'10" to the west of the meridian of Greenwich and between of the parallel 23° 04'25" y 23° 50'22" of north latitude.. it is contiguous to the south with the county of Rosario, to the east  with the county of Concordia and the Mexican state of Durango and to the north with the county of San Ignacio.  Is 3,068.48 square kilometers, which means that occupy 5.3% the territory of the state of Sinaloa, which make it the number nine biggest county in the state.

The county capital is the city and port of Mazatlan which is national and internation known as been a very popular tourist resort and fishing port. In  the county you can find a big diversity of tour activities as bird watching tours, interpreting the nature tours, rural tours for pictures in the great colonial villages with red roof tiles and wide adobe walls very typical of the region. You will also find roots for watching and studying the low expired forest with medical characteristics and of course there are in the county a big diversity in water activities and ecotourism.
